Lemon is cold pressed as an essential oil, specifically from Italy. What that means is that the rinds are squeezed to extract the essential oil. As the country of origin does change the aroma, Italian lemon oil is particularly good. The aroma is a sweet lemon citrus that is sharp and clean. Many people can grow a small lemon tree, for the plant produces beautiful flowers as well as fruit. Lemon essential oil is another “magic” essential oil with claims and anecdotal stories.

In perfumery the essential oil is highly studied and regulated, for citrus essential oil is used very often in cleaning products, skin care, formulations etc. This essential oil is inexpensive, however from an odour perspective it is excellent in odour control, often used to neutralize other odours.
